Renovations tells us:
"Saudi Oil is in bed with the Bush administration, has been for many years both Dad and George W.."
Read your history. The Saudi royal family has been "in bed" with the governments of both the US and Great Britain since WWI. By the way, George W. Bush is not invested in oil, you are confusing him with his father George H. W. Bush.

Saudi Oil is in bed with the Bush administration, has been for many years both Dad and George W.. They increased production to further make more money and to help out an old bed friend in Bush.

It is all speculation. It is the fault of speculation investing. It drove the price of oil. The demand does not change much in a few months, weeks, and days. Someday, the oil price will correct. When it comes, I will be happy. Party at my house. whoooaaaaa.

HeavyDuty_cache writes "Amoco doesn't even exist anymore. "
Whenever I fill up at a BP pump using my credit card, my statement says "blah blah AMOCO yadda yadda". Weird.

Where's the bus when we need it?
We need to take this one to where old tired urban legends go to die.

Your data is so out of date it isn't funny.
Tell me how Amoco can import but BP doesn't. Amoco doesn't even exist anymore.

You've got it all wrong.
Saudi Arabia were the first (or only one) to increase production when oil prices started rising above $120 a barrel for the first time. Saudi Arabia were the ones who called an OPEC meeting to reduce oil prices.
And have you seen the news today? Why did oil jump up more than $5 a barrel? Not because of Saudi Arabia, but because of Russia threatening to stop supplies to Europe and America.

I in NO WAY support Saudi Arabia! It would be nice to have those in charge (President) to tell the Saudi's to go pound sand. Instead of asking them to increase oil production, why dont we start drilling in places like the Gulf of Mexico, just like China, Mexico, Venezula (sp?). Oh, not to mention, Alaska has more oil than Saudi Arabia. Im all for the enviroment but, there has to be a time for the US to be a bit more self sufficient. I could go on but, I dont want to sound to radical.

Try www.snopes.com. This is an old myth and meaningless in any case since oil is a commodity.

Almost never buy from Shell(the hell with shell), Texaco/Chevron or Amoco. Why isn't Citgo on this report?

Renovations,
Even if the figures were correct, and we stopped buying oil from the companies that get oil from the Mid-East, where do you suppose the countries currently not buying Mid-East oil would get the 600,000,00-odd barrels to make up the shortfall? What do you suppose the Mid-East would do with their 600,000,000 extra barrels of oil?
As long as people buy houses way out into the country to commute to city jobs, demand large house lots in the suburbs, buy gas-guzzlers, build big houses to heat and cool and purchase gas-oriented toys, we'll need their oil.

Not to mention, if everybody totally avoided companies that imported Middle Easter oil, everybody else would run out, completely, not a drop at the pumps. Since that couldn't be allowed to happen, they would fill their tanks from the companies that still had supply, meaning, everybody would have Middle Easter Oil, or walk. Simply put, the US can't do without the percentage of supply from the Middle East without going on a drastic fuel consumption diet. Since so many people defend their right to sit in drive-through lines with the engine running, leave the engine running while 10 minute trains go by, leave the engine running to keep the car warm while they are in shopping, and, of course, drive the block to 7-Eleven to get a Slurpee, it isn't going to happen.

Well Rookie, Your data is wrong along with everyone else who has posted this spam. Amoco is owned by BP so if Amoco buys oil, BP must also.
Do some research before posting this crap over and over
