I stopped by my local country store the other day, where they were out of gas. I inquired inside as to the reason, and was surprised when the owner told me that he received a letter from the DES stating that he would need to perform upgraDES to the lines in order to be in compliance with the new levels of ethanol that are coming next year. Instead of containing 10%, the new level of ethanol is going to 15%. The costs for this small convenience store was going to be about 75K to upgrade his lines and pumps. Impossible for him to recoup, unless he really hiked his price at the pump, which would have probably kept people like me from stopping in to buy from the store. I can't wait to see how this is going to impact my two stroke engines on the boats and snowmobile.
