I just purchased the 2009 Suzuki SX4 Technology package AWD crossover the day after Christmas. I love it!!! I'm getting about 24 mpg in the city. Haven't done highway driving yet. Very roomy. I'm 5'2" and my husband is 6'4" and he has headroom and leg room too. The arm rest is a Godsend while driving due to a neck and shoulder injury. I'm going to use the standard/included navigation system tonight while driving to a birthday party in the boondocks.

Drove a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick 2DR 4WD for 13 years, had 250,000kms on it when I moved on to a 2003 Suzuki Vitara 2DR 4WD, had that now for 1.5 years and love it. Hope they bring back a nice little 2DR 4WD vehicle when I am ready for another one in about 7 years time!

I owned 1 1998 Esteem & a 2002 Esteem. Best cars I ever owned. I bought a 2006 Forenza because they stopped making the Esteems. The Forenza gets poor gas mileage other than that is is OK. I was only getting 13.5 MPG in the city. I ended up using the Lemon law. Before the hearing the dealer wanted another test drive. The factory rep drove & I was in the passenger seat. Their lawyer was sitting in the back. They filled up with gas & went on a 20 mile drive in the city. He drove very slow but did get up to the 45 MPH speed limit. He got 44.57 MPG. We then took it on the highway. The best I ever got was 19 MPG. Went on a 30 mile drive. He got 35.9 MPG. We went back to the dealer & they printed out a service ticket with the results. I lost at the hearing because the fine print in the EPA estimates said that thet are allowed to get 12 MPG with my car & still be within the guidelines. If I drive very slow & make the people behind me very angry I still only get 16 MPG in the city. If Suzuki were to use my certified test results they could sell millions of cars.

Here's why I started this thread. I'm driving a 2001 Daewoo Nubira, and I really like it. But they don't make Daewoos for sale in the US any more.
The local dealer who sold (and still services) Daewoo now carries Suzuki. I really like the service department there - they've treated me just fine. Warned me of a couple of things I needed before I realized it - kept me from doing a couple of things I didn't really need - they're good people. So I'm inclined to buy from that dealership when my Daewoo finally bites the dust.
But I haven't seen a lot of press - good bad or otherwise - about Suzuki, so I thought I'd come pose the question here.
Not a lot of commentary, but what's said is a lot more positive than negative. Looks like when the time comes I'll be giving Suzuki serious consideration. Thanx for your input.

I LOVE MY SUV!!!! I have an XL-7 I bought it in 2004. I saw the new model of the XL-7 and I believe my truck by far looks better than the newer model. Its fun to drive, roomy and no mechanical issues thus far!!!

Several years ago my daughter bought a "Chevy" Suzuki 2 door junk box. - or so I thought. Darned thing had plenty of front legroom (I'm 6"2"), reasonably good ride, very suprising performance. Nice car - real nice car - pity she has money for gas but not oil. Good nice car, but not good enough to run with no oil.

I have a 1998 Chevy Tracker. It was built by Suzuki and is identical to the Sidekick/Vitara of the same year. It had 71,000 miles when I bought it back in 2006. I now have over 118,000 miles on it and it's still going strong. The only worry I have is the fact that it smokes when you first start it up in the AM. It only lasts for a couple of seconds and then clears up and doesn't do it again for the rest of the day. It could be valvetrain trouble or just the valve seats, I don't know. On the same vein, my sister's fiance had a 1995 Sidekick that went 228,000 miles before the rust got to it. I hope I can get close to that. And, I'm getting 27 miles to a gallon just going back and forth to work. A real plus out here where gas is $3.24.9 a gallon.

My one and only Suzuki was a 1972 Suzuki Brute IV (4x4). It looked like a Jeep, with right hand drive. It was when Suzuki was just starting in the "car" business (like Honda). It was a fun toy with very little horsepower (2 cylinder, 2 cycle engine with about 30 HP).
The latest Suzuki's are much improved and plush compared to my Brute. I might consider Suzuki in the future.

I'm considering a new vehicle. And the local dealer I like best sells Suzuki (along with some US GM brands).
