I wouldn't buy a used one at that price. I don't think many others would either.

Not bad - if there is a secondary markey for used Leafs (Leaves?). Around our neighborhood we just burn them.

Fuzzy math!!! If you use the sticker price BEFORE the tax credits... it's more like 20% lost value in the first year for Volt and Leaf.

read the print---it retains 95% of the price AFTER the $7,500 federal tax break, in other words, the car loses about 27% in the first year

Interesting, I would think the price would drop significantly due since one year has been taken off the life of the battery.

It's hard to imagine anyone in even NEAR possession of their faculties (in other words, not a complete idiot) putting that kind of money into a Volt, new or used.

End the giveaway of taxpayer $$$. It is nonsense to give the rich and upper middle class a $7500 tax break at the expense of the poor and middle class.

so the only thing propping it up to 95% is the fed tax credit

Great, still can't afford one. Looks like it looses a lot more than that. What happened to the $7500?

I'm sure that'll be an option soon enough (battery insurance). Insurance is sold for everything else that *might* happen.

The thing I'll never understand is WHY they discarded the EV1 and they're making such a fuss over these two cars...the Volt and the Leaf. The EV1 made these two cars look like **** both in aesthetics and mileage and speed. I will NEVER understand it!

Ever look into the repair costs down the road? At the DEALER, where we all know you get the most competitive pricing :( As far as the 7500 tax break... they'll just raise the taxes on 'everyone' not just the Leaf owners. Now that's fair, right?
